Attention all Seniors attending a 2 or 4 year college this year! Do not forget to send your final transcript to your intended college! All final transcript requests must go through Parchment.
This is a MUST for the college you are attending in the fall. All transcript requests will be processed by late June. To send your final transcript you will need to use www.parchment.com. If you have not created an account, please create one with a non-shs email since that email will be deactivated over the summer. Instructions on how to create an account can be found here. Be sure to select “Hold for Grades” option.

Don't Forget to Get Your Donettes!
This year's last PPA Treat Day is here Patriots! And it's a sweet one — Donettes!
This one will be an in-person Treat Day at SHS! Students can pick up a pack of their mini-donuts this afternoon at the three main exit doors (the Point, the Sports Center and Door 18) from 2:30-4:15 p.m. as you are leaving for the day or arriving for sports practice. Enjoy!
Yearbooks are here!
The 2020-21 yearbook is ready! Students attending school can pick up their yearbook in the lower Sports Center lobby from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 - Friday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 26 - Thursday, May 27.
Freshman, Sophomore and Junior students or parents/guardians who need to drop off materials can also pick up yearbooks curbside in Lot B during textbook and item collection times.
Tuesday, May 25: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Student Services is planning the First “SHS Wellness Fest Week” which will debut the week of August 23-28. Throughout that Monday-Friday there will be various programs to promote self care and mental/physical wellness. The week will culminate with a large fest/event on that Saturday, August 28 from 1-6 p.m. in the Stadium and various locations on campus, so SAVE THE DATE! We are planning to have food trucks, presentations, and various tables for community agencies/student groups to advertise their work and how they promote wellness. The reason we are telling you now is that we would LOVE to have a student design our T-Shirts for all participants to wear! All drawings must be submitted by Friday, June 4 at 3:30 p.m. Submit your designs via this Google form.

Under the guidance of Dr. LeViis Haney, our director of equity, diversity & inclusion, the Future Business Leaders of America club is hosting a discussion panel with a Q&A session this Tuesday, May 11 from 6-7 p.m. The guest speakers are a group of diverse business professionals who will share their experiences regarding diversity, equity and inclusion in the business world. All students are welcome to sign up to attend this event, which will count as a service experience! We hope to see you all there!

Stevenson Live has teamed up with Pass on the Beat, SHS-TV, and Stevenson Choir to bring you SHSFest – a ninety-minute virtual production that will be streamed at 8 p.m. tonight! The event will feature high-quality videos of various types of talented acts, interwoven with emcee comedy skits, and will also be supporting the Stevenson: One Family initiative.
Tonight at 6 p.m, step back in time with the Baroque Ensemble who will be performing a virtual Vimeo concert featuring works by Corelli, Bach and Vivaldi. Tune in and watch your fellow classmates!

Don't forget to check out the East and West cafeteria areas during all lunch periods on Friday for some well-deserved mental health breaks. This week, it's all about mindful eating to nourish not just our bodies, but our minds as well. Hope to see you there!
Considering the current highly negative state of the pandemic in India, Student Services would like to offer support to those who may be impacted by this crisis. On Friday, May 7, room 6105 will be available during all lunch periods for anyone who wants to come by and talk to a member of Student Services or other students about their experiences. Attention Seniors! If you did not get a chance to pick up your cap & gown last Friday, there will be a final pick up date on Wednesday, May 12 from 3-5 p.m. It will be a curbside pick-up in Parking Lot E and you will need an ID or Driver's license to pick up your items. Also, If you did not order your cap and gown, orders must be placed no later than Friday, May 9 on Jostens.com.

The Choir Board's Masked Singer Contest Final Round will take place Sunday, May 2 at 3 p.m.! This competition consists of Stevenson staff as contest finalists who are disguised and singing various songs. Our judges will consist of Stevenson staff who will be providing feedback to the singers and trying to guess who each contestant is. Judges and audience members will be able to vote for a winner at the end of the competition. Anyone can join in viewing and participate in voting!
Here at Stevenson, we believe that mental wellness is a crucial ingredient to every student’s success. As part of our support of our students, we want to ensure you have the opportunities at school to achieve balance. Starting today and every Friday until summer break, check out the East and West cafeteria areas during all lunch periods. From creating a galaxy jar, to mindfully eating a tasty treat, we will be providing lots of fun ways for you to take care of yourself.

Calling all Seniors! The Senior Class Board and the PPA is hosting Senior Sunrise tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. outside in the Stadium. Come and share your future endeavors with your class and enjoy the photo station, sign a banner of Senior photos and leave with a Jazzman’s cookie or bagel. Student-dancers interested in auditioning for either the Mélange or Repertory Dance Companies for the first semester of the 2021-22 school year should join the audition Google Classroom. After joining, students must learn a dance phrase which will be posted as an assignment, record themselves performing the phrase and submit it to the Google Classroom. Stevenson’s Diversity Council will be hosting the annual World’s Fair tonight via virtual booths and performances. This year, 18 booths will be featured from around the world, including countries across Asia, the Americas and Europe, along with eight performances from India, South Korea, China and Mongolia! Attendees will have the chance to win prizes/food from booths, enter raffles for official World's Fair t-shirts and more! And the best part? It’s free to attend! Booths will be held via Zoom from 5-6:30 p.m. while performances will stream from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Hope you can join us!

If you are scheduled for at least one AP exam that will take place digitally at home, and you have not yet filled out the technology survey, you must do so this week! If you do not respond this week, we may not be able to provide a device to you in time for the exams.

We are so grateful every day for our amazing teachers, but each year during one special week, we like to give our teachers a little bit of extra love.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7, and we would like to invite all of our Patriot families to submit "thank you" messages to our teaching staff! We will use these messages for a video to kick-off Teacher Appreciation Week. Given the sheer size of our teaching staff, we kindly ask our students and families to keep thank-you messages general (not specific to an individual teacher) so that our entire Stevenson community can enjoy these messages.
Students and families can write or record their messages and submit them via this Google form by April 23. Thank you for helping us recognize our amazing teachers!!

Summer enrichment: Students who are looking for a summer enrichment opportunity either physically on a college campus or through a virtual program can check out the Summer Enrichment section within Naviance. Summer enrichment programs are being added to Naviance each week for current SHS freshmen, sophomores and juniors for summer 2021. Check it out!
TEDx@SHS is right around the corner! Join us for a Zoom Webinar on Tuesday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. to hear students speak on a variety of topics from climate change during the pandemic to the psychology of time. TEDx is an initiative inspired by TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.”

Students, faculty, family and friends can schedule an appointment online. Donors must be 110+ lbs, and students as young as 16 can donate as long as their parent/guardian signs a consent form. You must use the group code PV01 for SHS when arriving at the center. By donating blood, participants will be able to see results from a free COVID-19 antibody test
This year, Papa John’s is sponsoring the Illinois High School drives with free pizza coupons for donors! All presenting donors who provide the group code will receive a coupon for a free large one-topping pizza.
If we reach our annual goal for donors, Vitalant will donate $2,500-$3,000 to Stevenson to College (S2C) to help fund scholarship and mentorships for Stevenson students.
Graduation Speeches Applications
Traditionally, there have been two, three-five minute student speeches at Stevenson's commencement ceremony:
The "Scriptor" speech: Give the seniors the opportunity to look back at their years of education. Reflections on the experiences from kindergarten through high school, common experiences, and life lessons are typically mentioned in this speech.
The "Gubernator" speech: Give graduates the opportunity to look ahead. This forward-looking speech focuses on future challenges and opportunities.
If you would like to be considered for either of the speeches, please complete the application no later than Friday, April 16. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Patriot Parent Association is proud to provide another Treat Day! Emails were sent to all students yesterday with detailed information on how you can get a free slice of Papa John’s pizza April 8-11 from 4-7 p.m. Make sure you read your email and bring it with you to claim your treat!
The Peer Helpers are hosting their 2nd annual Mental Health Forum on Friday, April 9, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. via Zoom. This event includes students, faculty, and community providers discussing various mental health topics in order to help educate one another on these topics and help break the stigmas associated with mental health.

Things are beginning to feel a little bit like normal around school these days. Making a comeback after over a year being online only, our very own Stevenson News Magazine, The Statesman, has a new print issue! Please grab a copy when you are on campus. Issues can be found in distribution boxes around the school.

Calling all Student-Athletes! The final Patriot Pride Athlete virtual summit will be on Sunday, April 11 from 8-9 p.m. This session will feature presentations focused on Mental Toughness. We will be joined by the inCourage team and Stevenson alumnus Lauren Hall. Lauren is a 2012 grad who competed in soccer during her high school years and went on to pursue a career as a musician. She was featured on season 17 of 'The Voice'. Breakout groups will be led by inCourage and Patriot Pride.

Welcome back to all the Patriots on campus today... especially to our Freshmen class! In August, you didn't get your Freshman Mixer, so in April the PPA is giving you a Concrete Mixer! The Class of 2024 are invited to enjoy a Free Concrete Mixer from Culvers of Lincolnshire today from 4-7 p.m. In addition to some great ice cream, you will enjoy music from Stevenson's DJ Club and guest appearance from Stevenson's Mascot, Pat Riot. The Freshman Mentor Program will be handing out Stevenson High School Class of 2024 giveaways for the first 650 Freshmen to attend!

Welcome back, Patriots! This week starts our first ever, Anti-Racism and Inclusivity Week! For the kick off event, please join the FIRE club as they host the streamed viewing of Dr. Mykee Fowlin, a trained clinical psychologist and formally trained actor. He will perform, “You Don't Know Me Until You Know Me,” a HILARIOUS skit designed to promote worldwide inclusion. His aim is for all audience members to leave his performances with a "wonderful, awakening feeling of beauty: the beauty within one’s self and the beauty within others; the celebration of our differences, and the acceptance of our shared experiences."
The Latin Hispanic Student Association will also be hosting an event today called, Nuestra Identidad - Our Identity. This event will explore questions such as: What is the difference between Latino/a and Latinx? What about Latine? Who is considered Hispanic? Join the club to discuss what each means, how they overlap, and what sets them apart.

“S-Factor,” Kiva Club's annual singing competition is finally here! This year it will be held via Zoom tomorrow, March 19, at 7 p.m. Audience members will select the winner using the poll feature on Zoom. Tickets are $5.00 each and each ticket includes one device login to the show. You can purchase your tickets through the school store.

The PPA will be providing another treat to the Class of 2021 for the 21st of this month. Seniors, you will receive an email sometime today with a coupon for a free Frosty which you can pick up on March 19-21 from 2-4 p.m. each day at the Wendy’s located on Half Day Road in Buffalo Grove.
