Baroque Ensemble and Viol Consort
The Adlai E. Stevenson Baroque Ensemble and Viol Consort are unique ensembles focusing on Historically-Informed Performance (H.I.P.) practices performed on period instruments. The Viol Consort focuses on repertoire of the Renaissance through Baroque eras, while the Baroque Ensemble focuses on repertoire of the Baroque and Classical periods performed on period instruments. Students perform for regular school functions, community events, Stevenson solo and ensemble festival, etc.
This alternative strings group is the ultimate in Historically-Informed Performance (H.I.P.). Learn about performance practice of the Renaissance up to early Classical period and perform on period instruments. Be a part of a truly special ensemble.
Commitment
Attend all rehearsals, clinics, and performances.
Requirements
Audition required. Must be enrolled in a music class at SHS, have previous experience and be able to commit to the schedule provided.
