Spoken Word

The Stevenson Spoken Word Poetry Club offers students the opportunity to write and perform their original poetry. Students will work individually and in groups to develop their writing and performance skills with the intention of competing in Chicago's Rooted and Radical (R&R) Poetry Competition typically held in March-April. While anyone may attend the Spoken Word Club meetings, auditions for the R&R Poetry Competition are held through Write Club during the month of October.

Commitment

2-3 hours per week, plus competitions on the weekend during March and April.
