TEAMS / ACES

ACES (Academic Challenge) is an exam-based competition on high-level STEM content. Students challenge tests in two topics of their choice. TEAMS (Test of Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Science) is a cooperative competition solving real-world engineering problems through construction, written proposals, and exams. Meetings include WYSE practice exams and study, and TEAMS group work and practice builds.
Commitment
ACES/TEAMS practices are open to all.
Tryouts for ACES are held in October. Up to 42 students may qualify for regionals in February (likely on a Saturday). Qualifying team or individuals may compete at sectionals (March) and state (April).
TEAMS state is open to all. TEAMS consist of 2-4 members. State is held at Stevenson in January/February. Qualifying teams may compete at nationals (overnight trip, summer).

Must maintain academic eligibility to compete.

Membership
Unlimited members. ACES varsity team consists of 14 members. 28 more individuals may compete at At-Large and JV levels. TEAMS consists of unlimited teams of two to four members each.
