Enrolling at Stevenson

How to Enroll

1. Contact our Enrollment Department at shs_enrollment@d125.org or call 847-415-4077 to start the enrollment process after you've moved into your new home within the District 125 boundaries.
   • Our office is open throughout the summer months to assist our transfer families with the enrollment process.
2. Once your residency is verified, you'll receive a link to our online enrollment application.
   • For families that have just moved in and still need the Category II documents, we ask that you provide your utility bills within 30 days of enrollment. These can be emailed directly to shs_enrollment@d125.org. See below for the list of required residency documents.
3. After the application is reviewed and processed, your student will be assigned an ID number and you will gain access to our Student Management system, Infinite Campus. This will allow you to set up a Parent Portal.
   • This portal allows you to access our fee payment system, Summer School Registration, and other important information pertaining to your student's record.
4. The enrollment team will contact you, let you know if placement testing or assessments are required, and guide you through the process.
   • Typically, students will be assessed in Math, English, and World Languages (if applicable). For students in grades 10-12, we will also review the transcript provided by the prior school attended. 
   • NOTE: Families must produce a letter of withdrawal from prior school (if coming from another country) prior to completing the enrollment process and selecting courses with a counselor. The records of transfer students will be evaluated individually to determine the credits which may be applied toward Stevenson graduation requirements. Coursework completed by students prior to their enrollment at Stevenson will not be included in the calculation of the student’s GPA. Any coursework completed by students through international schools prior to their enrollment at Stevenson will be given a grade of pass (P) or fail (F). The division director will make the final determination in the evaluation of the records of the transfer student.
5. Once the placement process is completed, we will schedule an enrollment appointment with the student and parent/guardian to choose courses with our school counselor and create a schedule.
   • During this in-person meeting, families will discuss the courses that the student will be taking. The school counselor will be available to answer questions that the student or parents may have. Students may view the Stevenson Coursebook and Transitions guide online to review their interests prior to the enrollment meeting.  
6. Prior to the enrollment appointment, a staff member from the nurse's office will review any medical documentation that you have provided.
   • See the list of requirements here. Proof of appointment for any student still needing a physical will be required at this time. Please contact nurses@d125.org with any questions.
7. Lastly, you will complete the registration/fee payment steps and receive bus route information. 
   • Fee payment can occur at any time in the enrollment process once you have Infinite Campus portal access. Families that transfer into Stevenson after the start of the school year will have the opportunity to complete the registration/fee payment and receive the bus information with our School Operations office during the enrollment appointment. Proof of Residency

According to Illinois School Code, only students who reside within the attendance boundaries of District #125 may enroll at Stevenson High School. Residency within the district is verified at the time of a student’s enrollment as well as during each spring for the subsequent school year. The District contracts with a third-party vendor to verify student address information by comparing parent/guardian names and addresses with electronic databases. Additionally, the district may also require additional proofs of residency, interviews of the person(s) enrolling the student, and/or home visits to verify a student’s residency status.

NOTE: The process of establishing residency for newly enrolling families is different than the annual verification of residency for currently enrolled families which is required each summer. For more information about annual residency verification, please click here.

• One of the following:

  • Current and Valid Lease Agreement (including name and phone number of landlord)
  • Monthly Mortgage Statement
  • Real Estate Tax Bill
  • Closing Document (if moved within the last 30 days)
  • Bill of Sale (if moved within the last 30 days)
  • Warranty Deed (if moved within the last 30 days)
     

• two of the following:

  • Utility Bill Statement - Entire first page of the bill including the coupon portion. Utilities accepted include gas, electric, water, trash collection or cable.

  • Vehicle Registration - current year

The following documents also are required:

• Copy of Birth Certificate (with a certified translation, if not in English)

• Health Records or Immunizations Record

• Current Academic Records (unofficial transcript) and Standardized Test Scores (if available)
• Translated, Official/Certified transcript and a letter of withdrawal from prior school (if coming from another country)
