All returning Varsity members & any invited athletes will practice on both days.

Anyone that is interested in trying out for the team will participate in a warm up and a mini practice. Additionally, there will be time trial opportunities for swimmers to further assist the coaches in placing you into your respective levels.

To help the coaches further assess which level you should be placed into, please fill out this form (LINK). You will input your name and best times/performances from at least 2 of your best events.

Swimmers & Divers will be informed of their respective groups. There will be a 15 minute meeting for the JV1 & JV2 groups about the expectations for the season. After that, each group will have practice.

Please remember that Swimmers & Divers might compete on various levels throughout the season. There also might be opportunities for swimmers to move up or down groups depending on whether or not they exceed or fail to meet expectations.
Equipment Needed: Swimsuit & towel/sammy for all. Swimmers must come with goggles. Please be prepared to be in-water each day.
Thursday, Aug. 12: Practices begin for all rostered athletes.
Head Coach Bio
Ayrton Kasemets
1st Year
Ayrton Kasemets was named head girls swimming and diving coach in February 2020. He previously served two seasons as an assistant coach in the girls program, and also has been an assistant on the boys team for the last two years.
Kasemets was an all-state and All-American swimmer at Mundelein High School, earning three state medals. He finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 2014 after finishing eighth in the same event the year before. Kasemets also placed 10th in the 200-yard individual medley in 2014.
After high school, Kasemets swam for Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., from 2014-18, serving as a team captain. Oakland won the Horizon League championship in each of his four seasons. During his senior year, he was part of the Golden Grizzlies’ 400-yard medley relay team that won the league title.
Kasemets has dual citizenship with Estonia, where his parents were born, and swam for the country in the 2017 World University Games.
