Auditions

Audition information and sign-up links will be provided as they become available.

Incoming Freshman Band Auditions
Most incoming freshmen enroll in Freshman Band, and no audition is necessary. However, students may decide to do the optional audition for placement in one of the upperclassmen bands (Advanced Symphonic Band, Symphonic Band or Concert Band) during the spring of their eighth-grade year. A registration form must be completed to receive more information regarding their music and audition schedule. All information will be shared with you via email the week of March 14th, 2021.

All students must be registered for Freshman Band in order to audition. The SHS Band Directors will assist with any course changes need after the audition process has been completed.

*Freshmen who audition for upperclassmen bands are not guaranteed placement. They must meet a number of minimum performance criteria before being considered.

Band Travel in 2023

Group Travel has provided the Stevenson Band and Color Guard students with wonderful performing and educational opportunities, as well as a chance to relax and play together, and visit places of cultural and entertainment interest. We are so excited to be offering these opportunities again! 

The Stevenson Band and Color Guard will be traveling to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida on February 16 – 20, 2023. Anticipated highlights of the trip will include:

• A parade performance in Disney’s Magic Kingdom*
• Soundtrack Session Workshop (Band Students) and a Dance Disney Workshop (Color Guard)
• Visits to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center and Hollywood Studios
• Universal Studios Florida

Students will be departing from Stevenson on Thursday afternoon, February 16th at the end of the school day. Students will miss class on Friday, February 17th. There is no school on Monday, February 20th.
