There are 39 students from Stevenson who have been named Semifinalists in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program.
The Stevenson contingent includes: Saumya Agarwal, Shaurya Agrawal, Pradyumn Bonu, Krish Chatterjee, Gryphon Chong, Jacob De Guzman, Abra Giddings, Angela Guo, Bill Guo, Edward Han, Molly Hayden, Jennifer Huang, Chloe Kim, Logan Kim, Aaron Liu, Kevin Liu, Ronit Lodd, Jeffery Lu, Medha Mamidpaka, Grace Murray, Helen Qian, Vegeesh Ramaswamy, Vedant Rathi, Ilex Rosen, Devdutta Sahoo, Mayukhi Saraf, Kevin Shen, Richelle Shi, Grace Sun, Sachet Verma, Alex Wang, Angela Wang, Joshua Wang, Shidong Yan, Elizabeth Yuan, Andrew Zhang, Ethan Zhang, Joseph Zhu, and Vivian Zhu.
More than 16,000 students have achieved the distinction of National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, representing less than 1 percent of high school seniors in the United States.
The semifinalists will now move on to compete for the 7,140 National Merit Scholarships, which are offered next spring and worth nearly $28 million.
