Veteran SHS Math Teacher to Lead Division
July 11, 2012

Christina Kelly, who has taught at Stevenson High School for 23 years, has been named Department Manager of Mathematics for the 2012-13 school year. She replaces Dr. Gwendolyn Zimmermann, who was promoted to assistant principal for teaching and learning in June.
"Chris has been a leader in the Mathematics Division for quite some time, and we are thrilled to add her knowledge, experience and talent to our administrative group," said Principal Troy Gobble.
Kelly has taught nine different mathematics courses at Stevenson during her 23 years at the school, and has served as a core leader within the Mathematics Division for nine years. She was a finalist for the Illinois Teacher of the Year Award in 2005. Four of her five children are Stevenson graduates.
Kelly previously taught at four other high schools across the country, including Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia, where she was head of the mathematics department.
