Spain Summer Trip
Open to any freshman, sophomore or junior currently enrolled in Spanish 2 or higher. The trip covers 12 days in June. Contact Michael Martinez or Amanda Cummings for details.
German Exchange
German students will travel to the U.S., stay with Stevenson host families, go to school and take field trips from April 2-19. Stevenson students will travel to Germany June 14-30, staying with the families of students they hosted in April, attending school and taking field trips. Costa Rica Travel Course
This travel course offers students the exciting opportunity to experience the culture and diverse ecosystems of Costa Rica while staying in the Area de Conservacion Guanacaste, a UN World Heritage Site. Students will work closely with instructors and resident researchers as they learn about the unique biodiversity and carry out independent projects in this beautiful tropical setting. Opportunities for interdisciplinary political, sociological, economic, and scientific studies will arise as the group tours the countryside. The departure date will be June 24 (+/-3 days) and total travel time will be nine days. Two preparatory days of summer school prior to departure are required to discuss logistics and complete pre-trip assignments. AP European History Summer Trip
For the fifth summer in a row, a summer trip is being offered to students currently enrolled in AP European History or juniors who took AP European History in 2011-12. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring European history to life while making great friends and memories. Students will also earn 1 summer school credit. The itinerary takes the group to Munich, Venice, Verona, Lucerne, Heidelberg and Paris, as well as many other destinations in between. The departure date will June 19 (+/-3 days), and total travel time will be 13 days abroad. FACULTY TRIP TO CHINA
We are planning a 10-day trip to China during Spring Break 2013 for Stevenson employees only. This is an educator professional development experience, which means neither spouses, significant others and students are not allowed to participate.
Plans call for flying out of O’Hare in the early evening of Friday, March 22, 2013, and returning on the afternoon of Sunday, March 31, 2013. The cost of the trip is around $3,000.
The cost includes: round-trip airfare, all admission fees, English-speaking tour director, English-speaking tour guides at every location, hotel costs, breakfast/dinner every day, trip insurance, tips for all tour guides and bus drivers, and visits to three high schools — in Beijing, in Shanghai and to our sister school in Xi'an.
This cost does NOT include: passport fees, group visa fee, lunch every day, souvenirs, or supplemental cost for single room (if requested).
