All sophomores must report either Tuesday, April 24 or Wednesday, April 25 (depending on last name) at 1 p.m. to their assigned room to take the BarOn EQ test. Sophomores can find out their assigned room by visiting the nearest Student Services Office (Room 2414, 2412 or 6064).
Following the BarOn EQ, on the same day, sophomores must report to a presentation in the Performing Arts Center from 1:40 to 3:25. For those whose last name falls within Abascal thru Leong, this will take place on Tuesday, April 24. For those with last names falling within Levine thru Zucker, they will participate on Wednesday, April 25.
The special presentation will address bullying, and will be led by Kirk Smalley. His presentation is called "Stand for the Silent." Kirk and his wife Laura lost their son Ty and started the Stand for the Silent campaign. The
Stand For The Silent program addresses the issues of school bullying and youth suicide with an engaging, factual and emotional methodology.
The sophomore program presentation entitled "Stand for the Silent" is a potentially powerful and emotional presentation aimed at ending bullying. It provides a good opportunity for parents/guardians to speak to their children about these issues. Please consider doing so, and please be aware and remind your children that help is available at all times at school, including immediately following the presentation. Parents/guardians and students may contact their Student Support Teams at any time for any questions, concerns, or other support.
