Spirit Fest 2012 Expected to Hit $20,000
October 3, 2012

Spirit Fest 2012 raised more than $18,600 for the
Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss in September, and the amount is likely to cross the $20,000 mark later this month. The school’s National Honor Society sponsors Spirit Fest, and has earmarked its proceeds from the upcoming Stevenson Foundation Online Auction for the Bauer organization. The online auction will be held October 22-29.
More than 1,600 people attended Spirit Fest, which ran from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, September 15.
Almost 1,100 people — 1,098, to be precise — participated in the attempt to set a world record for the longest glowstick salsa line, shattering the previous mark of 418. Unfortunately, officials from the Guinness World Records organization contacted the school on September 14 and indicated that it has coalesced all line dancing records into one — which means what would have been a new world record is not going to be recognized.
