SHS Presents "The Miracle Worker" February 3-4

The Stevenson High School Fine Arts Division will present the 2012 freshman-sophomore play, The Miracle Worker, on Friday and Saturday, February 3-4, in the Little Theater of the Performing Arts Center. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. each night. Admission is $5.

The play is based on the life of Helen Keller, the first deaf and blind person to earn a bachelor’s degree, and her relationship with Annie Sullivan, the educator who transformed her life. Katia Podtynov will play the role of Helen Keller, while Abby Conlon portrays Annie Sullivan. The remainder of the cast includes Aidan Murphy, Monica Marro, Justin Horowitz, Alyson Low, Jack Buttacavoli, Jessica Daly, Shepard Swift, Dylan Projansky, Allison Phillips, Arielle Cheifetz, Masha Feingold, Danielle Gordon, Sara Mahini, Lauren Prather, Erica Smolinski, Tommy Roers, Chris Moseley, Noah Chisman, Alex Knezevic and Rebecca Krakman.

Cynthia Lynch is the play’s director. Set design and technical direction comes from Stephen P. Carmody, with additional technical direction from Rich Meltzer. Aliceson Hackett-Rubel handles costume design, and Rachel Canter is head dresser/design assistant. Jared Granoff is in charge of sound design, and will work the sound board with Joel Glickman (who also is the light board operator). Dana Sussman is the stage manager, Hannah Perl is the transition musician, Julia Czoch and Rachael Weisz are costume dressers, and Emily Brown is a make-up assistant and dresser. The set construction crew consists of Jason Greenwald, Amanda Salter, Kolin Jungmann and Kevin Williams.
