PREP Expands Course Choices for 2012-13
August 14, 2012
Stevenson High School’s Patriot Recreation Education Program (PREP) has expanded its fall and winter course offerings to include more than 75 classes at the school, and has added an option that allows District 125 residents to choose from hundreds of online courses. PREP also is launching the Stevenson Community Music Academy for kids, featuring classes at the school as well as an option for private lessons.

Fall/winter catalogs were mailed to the community in early August, and also are available at the high school and at the Vernon Area and Ela Township libraries. PREP is offering a 10% discount to anyone who signs up for two or more classes or camps at the same time.
District 125 residents who are age 60 and older can apply for a Gold Card that allows them to register for some PREP classes at half of the regular price. The Gold Card also provides free admission to Stevenson home athletic contests and fine arts performances (excluding IHSA tournaments and Stevenson Foundation events). To register for a Gold Card, district residents 60 and older must apply in person at the PREP Office, located in Room 3044 near parking lot B. The office is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
PREP was created to expand community use of Stevenson High School facilities at no cost to District 125 taxpayers. Administrative costs (including use of space), staff salaries, equipment, etc., are included in the fee assessed to those signing up for PREP classes and camps.
