Current list of PPA Committees and responsibilities:


All Class Representatives, in addition to the duties listed below, are expected to follow their class throughout their four years at Stevenson and to eventually take a lead role in the Senior Class Celebration.

Freshmen Class Representatives:
Coordinate throughout the year with the Freshmen Class Board and teacher Representatives concerning assistance with homecoming and winterfest activities. Organize along with the FMP’s and Student Activities the Freshman Mixer Dance in August including arranging parent volunteers (with help from the PPA Volunteer Coordinator).

Sophomore Class Representatives:
Coordinate throughout the year with the Sophomore Class Board teacher Representatives concerning assistance with homecoming and winterfest activities. Assist with the bake sale to be held during Showcase in April. (Contact the Sophomore Teacher Representatives early in the year to confirm the class will be participating.)

Junior Class Representatives:
Coordinate throughout the year with the Junior Class Board and teacher Representatives concerning assistance with homecoming and winterfest activities. Arrange with the Stevenson Prom Coordinator the sweet table provided by the PPA at Prom. Consult with the PPA Board on whether a Post-Prom event will be undertaken.  If yes, coordinate with the Junior Class Board to plan Post-Prom activities and secure the location and transportation at the beginning of the school year. Sell tickets for two weeks in April (during Prom ticket sales). Serve on the Senior Class Celebration committee is some capacity as a stepping stone to a lead role the following year.

Senior Class Representatives:
Coordinate throughout the year with the Senior Class Board and teacher Representatives concerning assistance with homecoming and winterfest activities. Assist with the Mr. SHS contest as needed. Assist with the Senior Class Celebration in a lead role capacity.

Bake Sale:
Conduct weekly to bi-weekly bake sales for the benefit of the Senior Class Celebration.
 
Directories:
Responsible for securing advertisers and updating calendar and other information included in the annual directory. Collect data from the school and submit the information to the printer. Coordinate the layout with the printer and the intended delivery date. Contact the PPA Board to help distribute the directories at the Open House nights in September and fill any additional volunteer spots with assistance from the Volunteer Coordinator.
 
Gift Checkbooks:
Manage the sale of gift checkbooks at the Open House nights in September. Determine other creative ways to increase sales of the books.
 
Membership: 
Proactively coordinate membership activities including communicating with the feeder schools.  Organize and chair nominating committee.
 
Showcase:
Plan and manage the annual Showcase talent show to be held in April. Obtain Angel Volunteers. Manage audition sign-ups, auditions, tech and dress rehearsals. Ensure appropriateness and readiness of all acts. Prepare and print tickets and programs and sell tickets. Secure security, facilities and other necessary resources.

 

Staff Hospitality:
Organize Teacher breakfasts in August and in May (during Teacher Appreciation Week) including shopping for food, set-up, serving and clean up.
 
Senior Class Celebration:
Plan the Senior Class Celebration to be held near the end of the school year. Solicit volunteers and committee heads for the various committees needed for this event; including, but not limited to; decorations, entertainment, food, fundraising, donations and coatroom.

Student Treats/Cookie Days:
Organize 3 cookie days per year for the students on Homecoming Friday, Winterfest Friday, and Spring Fling Friday. Order, pick-up and deliver the cookies to the school. Obtain a list of interested volunteers from the Volunteer Coordinator and coordinate volunteers for cookie distributions in the Wood Commons and Glass Commons (by the PAC).
