Graduating seniors will receive 8 tickets for family or friends to attend the Commencement ceremony. Graduating seniors DO NOT need a ticket to attend. Graduates will receive their tickets at the Graduation Rehearsal. No tickets will be given out to parents or siblings of the graduate. It is the responsibility of the graduate to distribute the tickets to friends and family they wish to attend. No tickets will be given out prior to the rehearsal. Lost tickets cannot be replaced.
Attendance at the rehearsal is MANDATORY for seniors participating in the Commencement ceremony. Rehearsal will be held at Stevenson High School on Thursday, June 4 in the SHS Field House. Students should arrive in the Field House between 7:30-8:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be served. Generally, there will be no exceptions to the rule that attendance at rehearsal is mandatory in order to participate in the Commencement ceremony. The Commencement ceremony for the class of 2014 will be held at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates on Thursday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. A Graduation ticket is required to enter the arena. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00. p.m Doors will open to the public at 5:30 p.m. Graduates must report no later than 6:00 p.m. Graduates must enter the arena through the rear receiving dock doors.
There is adequate seating available for all guests, as well as adequate handicapped seating. We ask that only one family member accompany those requiring handicapped seating. The handicap seating is located on the main floor so no elevators or stairs are required. All seating at the Sears Centre is general admission. No transportation will be provided. Directions To The Sears Centre
The Sears Centre Arena is located in the Prairie Stone Business Park immediately north of the Northwest Tollway and west of Illinois Route 59. From the East:
Take I-90 west (northwest Tollway) to the New Sutton Road (Route 59) exit and go straight. The arena will be on your right. From the West:
Take I-90 (Northwest Tollway) to the New Sutton Road (Route 59) exit. Turn left onto New Sutton Road and go north to the next traffic light. At the light, make a left turn onto Hoffman Boulevard. Parking At The Sears Centre
There are 3200 on-site parking spots at the Sears Centre Arena. Handicapped parking is located outside the Main Entrance. We encourage you to arrive early to avoid congestion. The lots are accessible off of Prairie Stone Pkwy, Hoffman Blvd., and Pratum Ave. Once inside, Prairie Stone signage and parking attendants will direct you to the closest lot.
Students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate to the occasion. Boys are to wear dress slacks, dress shirts, and nice shoes. Girls are to wear nice dresses or skirts and dress shoes. No shorts, jeans, flip flops, or gym shoes. Graduates will not be allowed to bring bags or purses of any kind into the arena. Again, all students are expected to wear dress shoes. Tennis shoes and flip flops will not be allowed.
The Commencement ceremony will honor the Class of 2014. It should reflect the high standards which characterize the class and Stevenson High School. Accordingly, graduates and their guests are expected to conduct themselves in a dignified and solemn matter which reflects the significance of the occasion.
