Golf Outing

The 16th Annual SHS Foundation Golf Outing on June 17, 2011 raised nearly $25,000 to support important programs such as Innovation Grants, the Kids in Need Fund, and Student Scholarships. The Foundation is extremely thankful to the many people and businesses who made this year our most successful outing ever!
New for 2011 was the Stevenson High School Foundation Cup—an impressive travelling trophy that will be held each year by the winning team. The winning foursome, with a score of 55, included Jim Hintz (former SHS Assistant Superintendent for Business), Rick Dewar (OWP/P - CannonDesign), Bill Lutz (Larson Equipment & Furniture) and Chris Johnson (InterfaceFLOR)— see you next year to defend the trophy!
Also this year were two new betting holes. The first, "Buy the Girls Golf Team Shot," featured the talents of eight members of the Stevenson girls golf team—Hillary Scaletta, Katie Pepping, Nikki Marquardt, Jessie Rios, Tiffany Scheer, Nicole Crosby, Anna Kaszuba and Ewa Kaszuba. Golfers could make a donation to buy the girl’s shot instead of taking their own—the hole was extremely popular and raised $1,000, half of which was donated back to the SHS girls golf team. The other new betting hole was "Beat the Athletic Director," which was expertly handled by Stevenson AD Trish Betthauser. Trish went toe to toe with the best of the golfers and raised mroe than $500. Thanks to all of you!
We were honored to have participation in the outing from former State Senator and Vernon Township Chair Bill Peterson, District 125 Board of Education members Bruce Lubin (President), Merv Roberts, and Lori Lyman, as well as District 96 Board President Marc Tepper and District 103 Board member and SHS Foundation co-President Ellyn Ross.
Great thanks go out to our fabulous golf committee: Mike Lyman (Accenture), Jeff Masters (Gilbane Building Co.), Mark Peterson (Bridgeview Bank, Foundation Board), Alfred Scaletta (TDS Metrocom, Foundation Board), and Mark Michelini (SHS Asst. Superintendent for Business, Foundation Board Treasurer). The outing also couldn’t happen without the amazing support of the SHS team that graciously helps manage the event each year: Deanna Dreyer (Foundation Board), Stephanie Schafer, Barb Bonadonna, Benay Rosenberg, and Laurie Dickinson. We also wish to thank all the volunteers who helped make the outing run smoothly: Foundation Board members Ellyn Ross, Rick Scardino, and Peggy Gaier, Diane Errigo, Chris Wilson, Amish Thakker, Debbie Castriano, Barbara Kenzer, Terri Scardino, Mary Korta, Erwin Borowsky, Linda Spungen, and from Bridgeview Bank, Tammy Czyz, Kim Adams, Codi Hall, and Kristin Maskalumas.
