Supporting Stevenson
The Stevenson Foundation provides support to foster teaching innovation and excellence and help develop our students into tomorrow’s leaders. Recognizing Stevenson’s important role in the community, the Foundation also builds mutually beneficial partnerships with local schools, businesses, community organizations, and citizens. Since its founding in 1993, the Stevenson Foundation has distributed more than a quarter million dollars in scholarships, grants, and awards.
The Foundation enriches opportunities for SHS students and faculty and enhances community access to SHS resources through a variety of programs, including:
•
Kids in Need (KIN) fund — provides assistance for school-related expenses for students whose families are in financial need. KIN also provides a free breakfast program to supplement the free/reduced lunch program. KIN currently is unable to meet its demand each year for funding.
•
Student Scholarships — the Foundation sponsors and facilitates numerous scholarship funds for outstanding student achievements in leadership, public service, performing arts, and much more.
•
Teacher Innovation & School Program Grants — help fund pioneering classroom projects and important co-curricular projects such as the Spirit Fest benefit, Career Fair, World’s Fair, athletics outreach programs, and much more. The Founation also sponsors Odyssey, Stevenson’s bi-annual arts immersion festival featuring over 300 artists across all artistic disciplines.
•
Spotlight Concert and Children’s Theater Series — welcome the community to Stevenson’s performing arts theaters for outstanding professional and student performances.
•
Garden of Peace, Hope & Remembrance — this important part of our school environment includes native prairie and the magnificent "Quest for Peace" sculpture. We now seek to establish an Outdoor Classroom in the Garden for hands-on environmental studies and other class projects.
•
Community Outreach — the Foundation helps the school enrich the community through educational and visiting artist programs for sender schools and community organizations, and by collaborating with SHS’ community education program (PREP).
Your support enables these and other Foundation programs to be successful. The Stevenson Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. No tax dollars are used to fund Foundation programs.
