Attendance
Q: How do I report an absence?
A: Call the Attendance Office at 847-415-4020, 4029 or 4050. You will need your student's ID number. Absences should be reported before 3 p.m. the day of an absence. If a student attends a class at the Technology Campus, the absence must also be called into the Technology Campus at 847-223-6681, extension 0. If reporting a late arrival or early dismissal, your student must check in at one of the Attendance Offices upon arrival or before departure.

A: If you are going to miss an extended period of time due to vacation or illness, please contact your guidance counselor as soon as possible.

Q: What happens if an absence is not reported?
A: Failure to report an absence in 48 hours may result in an automatic unauthorized absence. All unauthorized absences will require a conference with your Dean. For more information:

Q: what does a student need to do when they are leaving early and must miss a class period?
A: If a student must leave school before the end of the day, a parent or guardian must contact the Attendance Office in advance. When the student is ready to leave, he or she must check into one of the Attendance Offices before departure. The Attendance Office may be reached at 847-415-4020, 847-415-4029 or 847-415-4050.

Q: What should a student do if he plans to be absent for a week?
A: If a student knows that he or she will be absent for an extended period of time, there are two steps to take. First, notify our Attendance Office prior to the first date the student will be absent. Second, prior to the absence, make arrangements with the student's teacher to obtain homework assignments.

Q: My student's bus didn't show up this morning. What do I do?
A:
When a bus fails to arrive or make a scheduled stop, please call the dispatcher at First Student Bus Company at 847-634-0868. During the morning hours, the dispatcher is the only person who can answer your questions.

Q: Is bus service available for students in after-school activities?
A: Monday through Friday, late buses leave the Forum entrance off parking lot B at 6:30 p.m. One bus goes east and one goes west. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, buses also leave the Forum entrance at 4:30 p.m. The route each bus will take is determined by the destinations of the students riding.

Q: What options are available for students who can't eat gluten?
A: Gluten-free items are available in the new serving line in the West Commons, which is across from the Wood Commons. In addition, there are fresh fruit and vegetables in every cafeteria serving line at Stevenson. Q: How do I find out if school is closed?
A: Closings will be reported on the SHS website. Also, parents who have supplied the school with telephone contact information will receive a message through the school's Instant Alert System. In addition, local TV and radio stations broadcast school closing information.

Q: Where do I drop off and pick up students?
A:
Drop Off: Parents may drop off students in lots B, D and E. Parents are encouraged to drop off students before 7:45 a.m. to avoid parking lot congestion.
Pick Up: Students can be picked up in lots D or E. You must pull into an empty parking space when picking up in these lots. Parents are encouraged to pick up students after 3:45 p.m. to avoid buses and parking lot congestion.

Q: What are the school colors? Is it Varsity Yellow and Forest Green?
A: "Forest green" and "varsity yellow" are good characterizations of Stevenson's green and gold colors. If you are using the
Pantone Matching System, which is the standard in the printing industry, the school's green is PMS 342 and the gold is PMS 123.

A: There is no general school supply list for Stevenson High School students.

A: Lost items are held for 30 days in both Attendance Offices: 6068 in the east building, 2416 in the west building.

Q: How do I get an item to my student?
A: Just drop off the labeled item with the Security staff at the Forum entrance. You will be instructed to take valuable items upstairs to Room 2400. Remember, bring your driver's license for identification.

Q: What is the homework make-up policy?
A: Each teacher/teaching team will distribute their make-up procedures at the beginning of each semester. The student must see their teacher immediately upon their return from an excused absence.

Infinite Campus
Q: How do I get access to Infinite Campus?
A: Any parent or guardian seeking access to Infinite Campus must first fill out a Portal Activation Form. (
Click here to fill out the form.) The Data Processing Department will verify the information, and then will supply you with an activation code by email if your email matches the address already in our files. If not, we will mail the activation code to your home.
When you receive your activation code, go to Stevenson's home page (
www.d125.org) and click on the Infinite Campus banner, which is located on the right-side of the page. A new page will come up, and will include the phrase: "If you have been assigned a Campus Portal Activation Key, click here." Enter your activation key, then click the Submit button. The next page will ask you to set up a login and password. Once this is done, you will be able to access Infinite Campus.

Student Parking
Q: May I drive to school?
A: Only seniors may obtain a parking permit for their personal or family-owned vehicle. Each permit clearly indicates the marking periods a student is allowed to park on campus. These permits may not be sold or transferred. Juniors/Seniors without these parking permits are not allowed to drive/park on campus until 3:45 p.m. on regular school days or until 1:15 p.m. on PSAE and final exam days. Space permitting, juniors/seniors may purchase a one-day parking permit for the Port Clinton lot. These one-day permits may be purchased from Room 2400.
