Eleven Students Advance in Math Contest

Eleven Stevenson High School students have moved one step closer to qualifying for the
United States of America Mathematical Olympiad. Senior John Park; juniors Brandon Axe, Kevin Doherty, Sai Nimmagadda and Tianlu Wang; sophomores David Chen, Duk Kyou Lim and Vivian Wan; and freshmen Timothy Klem, Jaymo Kang and Alex Hong qualified for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (
AIME), which is one step from the Olympiad. They will participate in the AIME on Thursday. The students reached the AIME through their scores in the American Mathematics Competition in February. Klem, Kang and Hong qualified in the
AMC 10 category (grades 10 and below), while the other eight qualified in the
AMC 12 category (grades 12 and below).
