Science Placement Information
Incoming Freshman Science Placement is based on the results of the Mathematics and English placement tests. Freshmen begin the sequence in one of three courses:
- Natural Science
- Accelerated Biology - with prerequisites of Mathematics Accelerated/Honors placement AND strong score on English placement
- Accelerated Chemistry - with prerequisites of Geometry Honors AND Accelerated English
Incoming Sophmore Science Placement typically follows the sequence below:
- Biology - if currently enrolled in Natural Science
- Accelerated Chemistry - if currently enrolled in Accelerated Biology
- AP Physics B - if currently enrolled in Accelerated Chemistry
Incoming Junior Science Placement typically follows the sequence below:
- Chemistry or Environmental Science - if currently enrolled in Biology
- AP Physics B or Accelerated Physics - if currently enrolled in Accelerated Chemistry
- AP Biology - if currently enrolled in AP Physics B
Incoming Senior Science Placement typically follows the sequence below:
- Chemistry - if currently enrolled in Environmental Science
- Physics or Accelerated Human Anatomy & Physiology -if currently enrolled in Chemistry
- AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, AP Environmental or Earth Science Honors - if currently enrolled in AP Physics B or Accelerated Physics
- AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, AP Environmental or Earth Science Honors - if currently enrolled in AP Biology
