Time Commitment
2-4 hours per week for meetings plus monthly tournaments.
September - April.

Mondays and Thursdays after school.

Come to meetings and stay in touch with the coaches.

Description

The Debate Team participates in Congressional Debate tournaments in which competitors give speeches in a mock Congress format by speaking on student-sponsored "legislation." Along with developing public speaking skills and enhancing knowledge of political affairs, students can make lasting friendships and connections in a highly educational environment. The Stevenson Debate Team participates locally in the Illinois Congressional Debate Association and also competes in the National Forensics League.
