2012-2013 Color Guard Sign-up Information
2012-2013 Color Guard Sign-ups are April 30th & May 2nd. Monday, April 30th is a mandatory parent/student meeting in the Band Room from 7:00-9:00PM. On Wednesday, May 2nd, we’ll teach you some Color Guard moves from 3:45-6:00PM in the Wood Commons. NO EXPERIENCE is needed & we would love to have more members on our roster! With our Marching Season Only membership option, it’s easier than ever to be a part of Color Guard! Members are also welcomed & encouraged to choose our Dual Season membership, which adds competition season.

Eligibility Requirements
The Color Guard is open to students interested in performing precision routines; interpreting music through dance, and flag handling. Students sign-up each May for positions in the following year’s Color Guard.
Time Commitment
Marching Season Members: 6 hours per week evening reheaersals August-October.
Dual Season Members: At least 6 hours per week evening rehearsals August-March. Weekend competitions and competitions and proactices October-March.
All Members: Summer rehearsals once a week in June & July
Meets
Typically on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Wood Commons.
Procedure For Joining
Sign-ups are held in May of the preceding year. No experience necessary, though background in music and/or dance is desired.
Description
The Color Guard performs as a part of the Marching Patriots at home football game halftime shows, pep rallies, and the Buffalo Grove Days Parade. After marching season, the Color Guard pursues its own indoor Winter Guard competition season with the TEAMDance Illinois.
