Stevenson’s Class of 2009 posted school-record scores on the SAT college entrance exam. In all three areas of the test – mathematics, critical reading and writing – the school’s most recent graduates set new standards for their successors.
In mathematics, the average score jumped from 663 to 683, breaking the previous record of 664 set in 2007. The critical reading score also saw a 20-point increase, from 611 to 631, and broke the old mark of 615 established in 2007. The average writing score increased from 613 to 636, eclipsing the previous best of 617 set in 2007.
A total of 157 students took the SAT, a decline of 44 from the previous year’s graduating class.
