Information on the Athletic Training program at Stevenson High School.
We work with Stevenson athletes, coaches and parents to insure the best possible care for the athletes.
We work under the auspice of team physicians Dr. Christ Pavlatos of Lake Forest Orthopaedic brach of Illinois Bone and Joint and Dr. Mark Neault at Complete Orthpedic Care, to evaluate, treat and help prevent injury. Stevenson high school supplies two full time athletic trainers, as well as three part- time athletic trainers contracted by Accelerate Rehabilitation Centers ®. There are also many student athletic trainers who study and learn with hands on experiential education. We take on new additions to the program every year. Those interested can visit the athletic training room (room 1114) for more details about joining.
All Stevenson Athletic Trainers are board certifed and hold licensure with the Illinois Dept of Professional Regulation.

Visit any one of the the Accelerated Rehabilitation Ceters for a free injury evaluation. Accelerated is the premier provider of physical therapy and sports medicine in the Chicagoland area and throughout the midwest.
Stevenson will be providing free concussion testing to student-athletes thanks to financial support from Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Sports Boosters organization. The school received a $500 grant from Dick’s through its PACE (Protecting Athletes through Concussion Education) program. PACE is a baseline concussion screening initiative that supplies schools with ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) test packages for free for one year (a $500 value). ImPACT is a computerized concussion evaluation system that aids in determining an athlete’s ability to return to play after suffering a concussion. If a student or parent who do not wish to be tested can opt-out. Click here for the opt-out form.
The grant will help cover testing for 300 student-athletes. Stevenson’s Sports Boosters has agreed to pick up the cost for testing after the 300 level is reached.
