Dancers will perform several combinations demonstrating versatility, artistry, and technique.
Overview
Stevenson High School's Dance Department is a Contemporary-based Program that focuses on a dancers: technical skill, conditioning, ownership and confidence, artistry, creativity, performance, musicality, terminology and body awareness. Courses offered include:
Beginning Contemporary Technique
Intermediate Contemporary Technique
Advanced Contemporary Technique
Concert Dance
Jazz
Ballet
Men's Rhythm Core
Level Placements
Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors that have NOT danced at Stevenson:
- If the student has never danced before or hasn't had much dance training, they should enroll for Beginning Dance.
- If a student has dance experience and thinks he/she might be an Intermediate or Advanced dancer - He/She should attend a placement audition on February 7 and 8, 2013 during a study hall, free hour, or P.E. course. From this audition the student is placed in the appropriate level.
- Students that are currently in the program will be placed at the appropriate level based off of the recommendation given by their dance teacher.
