Another National Honor for The WIT

The 2011 edition of
The WIT, Stevenson’s student literary magazine, was awarded a rank of Superior-Nominated for Highest Award in the National Council of Teachers of English
Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines.
The WIT was honored for its writing, art and production quality.
Three hundred and ninety-one schools entered their magazines in the contest, and 96 were considered for the highest award. Thirty-eight received the Highest Award, while 52 others joined Stevenson in the Superior-Nominated for Highest Award ranking. In Illinois, three schools won the Highest Award (DeKalb, Lyons Township and University in Normal), and three received the Superior-Nominated for Highest Award honor (Stevenson, Deerfield and St. Ignatius in Chicago).
Last year’s magazine was run by Editor-in-Chief Ariel Rosen and Senior Editor Danielle Levsky, both 2011 graduates. The rest of the staff included Emily Davis, Ariel Blackman, Kimmie Levey, Luke Stroth, Rachel Affenit, Shayna Korol, Joanne Jun and Diana Lu. The sponors of The WIT are Jim Barnabee and Chris Heckel-Oliver.
