Annual Spirit Fest Around the Corner

Stevenson High School is gearing up for the annual
Spirit Fest charity fundraiser, which this year will be held Saturday, September 15. The event will run from 5-9:30 p.m. in the Stadium, and all proceeds will benefit the
Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss.

The foundation was created in memory of Lauri Bauer, a Stevenson parent who died suddenly in January 2011. The foundation seeks to provide support and counsel to those whose loved ones have died unexpectedly or are in crisis.
Last year, Spirit Fest raised more than $20,000 for Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lake County.
This year’s Spirit Fest also will feature another attempt to break a Guinness World Record. The latest world-record attempt will be trying to have the most people dancing the salsa with glow sticks. The current record is 418 people.
Spirit Fest also will feature a variety of games for all ages, musical entertainment, a 5-kilometer Spirit Walk, and, to conclude the evening, fireworks.
