Alumni Assoc. Launches LinkedIn Group
SHS is pleased to announce the launch of an official Stevenson alumni LinkedIn group: Stevenson High School Alumni Association. All alumni are encouraged to request to join the group! The LinkedIn group is intended only to facilitate professional networking among Stevenson alums. For non-professional purposes (news, reunions, etc.), alumni are welcome to post to our Facebook page (also Stevenson High School Alumni Association). The LinkedIn group is one of a number of professional initiatives the Alumni Association will launch in the coming year. These include the networking reception described below, as well as a series of job search skill workshops that will be announced soon on the LinkedIn group. We’d love your ideas for additional career-oriented programs or events; just email alumni@d125.org.

Alumni Professional Networking Reception June 27
As part of our professional networking kickoff, the SHS Alumni Association will host a professional networking reception on Wednesday, June 27 from 5:30-7 p.m. The event will be held at Stevenson in the Forum lobby, inside the ‘Point’ entrance (marked Entrance 1, park in Lot B off Half Day Road). Appetizers and beverages will be served. Bring plenty of business cards! Please RSVP by June 22 to dwillock@d125.org.
Information Needed for Alumni Database
The success of SHS Alumni Association communications, events, and reunion facilitation depends on the depth and accuracy of our contact database. If you’ve received this newsletter, please take a moment to email your name (including maiden name), grad year, and city of residence to alumni@d125.org. Please forward this newsletter to any Stevenson alumni you’re in contact with, or let them know they can sign up for the newsletter and find us on Facebook at d125.org/alumni.
Save the Date: Alumni Homecoming Party & VIP Game Tickets, Sept. 21

You’ll get VIP entrance (skipping the lines) and reserved alumni seating, then we’ll bus you back to Cubby Bear! Registration will be available online, to be announced in our next newsletter and at d125.org/alumni. For questions and advance reservations, contact Greg Diethrich at gdiethrich@d125.org.
SHS Alumni Gather for NYC Reception
From the song New York, New York, the line "if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere" suggests that our Alumni Association can look forward to a bright future. Over 30 Stevenson alums came together at the Miracle Garden in New York City’s East Village on April 20 for an evening of socializing and networking. Alumni ranging from graduating classes in the mid-80s to the late-2000s living in the New York area connected and reconnected at the event, sharing lively conversation and business cards. It was the first such alumni event to be held outside the Chicago area. From Stevenson, Board of Education member Merv Roberts and Foundation Director Greg Diethrich attended the gathering and spoke about recent school achievements and the plans of the new Alumni Association. Great thanks go out to Andrew Klaber (Class of 2000) for co-hosting the event at the beautiful garden venue. We hope it's the first of many to come!
