Stevenson High School District 125 offers a two-session academic summer school program. Summer school is an extension of the school's regular academic program designed to provide students with opportunities to gain academic credit, receive enrichment or remediation, and explore new interests. Students take one course during a summer school session. Incoming freshmen are strongly encouraged to consider enrolling in summer school, as it facilitates the adjustment and transition to high school. About 70% of incoming freshmen enroll in summer school annually.
Summer school dates for 2012 are June 11 - July 3 (first session) and July 9 - August 2 (second session). Classes run from 7:45 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on school days. During the first session, there are two weeks when classes will meet for five days rather than the traditional four, due to the July 4 holiday. Here is the week-by-week schedule:
