1. demonstrate knowledge of vocabulary, including

-classroom objects
-schedules
-emotions

-cities and directions
-shopping and bargaining
2. show proficiency of present tense verbs, including
-regular –ar/ -er/ -ir verbs
-stem changing verbs (e->ie, o->ue)
-verbs irregular in yo (hacer, tener, venir, oír, etc.)
-other common irregular verbs (dar, ver, ser, estar, ir, etc.)
3. ask and answer questions effectively, including
-interrogative words
-subject changes (question in Uds./ answer in nosotros)
4. utilize informal affirmative commands, both with and without pronouns
5. exhibit competence in agreement, both subject/verb and adjective
6. demonstrate appropriate use of verb constructions, including
-hay que
-tener que
-acabar de
-ir + a + infinitive
-gustar
-present progressive
-ser/estar
-decir que
-venir de
7. make comparisons, both equal and unequal, as well as irregular
8. show proficiency in possession, both with "de" and using possessive adjectives
9. read short passages and answer corresponding questions
10. listen to conversations and answer corresponding questions
11. write a brief composition including vocabulary and grammar

2. show proficiency of vocabulary including
-negative words
-eating and ordering food in a restaurant
-daily routine/personal hygiene
3. recognize and form informal commands
-regular and irregular affirmative commands
-regular and irregular negative commands
-commands with pronouns
-reflexive commands
4. conjugate reflexive verbs
5. use gustar with subject pronouns, recognizing the difference between gusta and gustan
